Therapy Services

NOTE:  My counseling spots are currently full and I cannot accept new clients. I am still able to provide psychological assessment.

To get started with counseling you can Contact Me via phone/text, email, or my online form. After requesting an appointment, we will set up a brief phone consultation before confirming our first meeting. Check out my FAQ Page if you would like more information about what the consultation entails or have other questions about therapy.

Since I am employed by the University of Texas to provide therapy to students, I cannot accept clients into private practice who are current UT students since this would be a conflict of interest.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Therapy is a collaborative process where we build a better understanding of your needs, your strengths, and your challenges so that we can set solid goals for your success. There are no reasons too small or too big for counseling, and no wrong way to do it as long as you are engaged with an open mind. People are often in different stages of change including approaching the idea for the first time, actively seeking change, and some are maintaining changes they have made. Therapy is not “one-size-fits-all” so using this information, we will create goals and a treatment plan to best meet your needs.

RELATIONSHIP COUNSELING

Relationship counseling happens with you and your partner or partners. Our general goals are typically to better understand the dynamics of your relationship, the patterns you develop, and improve on communication. Relationship counseling can be about letting go of old patterns, enjoying your love together, and learning how to handle arguments more productively; but it can sometimes be focused on how to separate amicably if things aren’t working out. I am poly-affirming in my practice and will happily meet with all of those who are part of the relationship. I am also kink/BDSM affirming as a component of counseling.

ONLINE VIDEO COUNSELING

Having our therapy sessions together online can sometimes be a more convenient or helpful way for some people to access counseling. Online counseling can be just as effective as meeting in-person and flows pretty much the same. Using the video service is very simple to use, you won’t need to learn any complicated new software. Video sessions are never recorded, and your privacy and confidentiality are protected through a variety of safeguards. Many insurance companies are now covering the cost of video counseling services, but it his highly important that you first contact your insurance provider to find out what your plan covers.

Please be aware that many state licensing laws are constantly changing. If you are living outside of Texas and have a particular reason you would like to work with me, we can have a brief phone consultation to determine if this is possible. I am registered with PSYPACT which does allow me to provide services in specific states, you can see if your state is currently included on their website:  https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap

As a public disclosure for providing online services, I am licensed as a psychologist (#37024) by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
